Dude!!!! Anime Club today was a HUGE success!!!! Other than excessive talking (which was taken care of - thanks, Annie & Benji!
), it went really well! 22 members total for the first meeting!!!! That was frickin' AMAZING!!!!GHS ANIME CLUB WEBSITE *under construction*: [link]
For the people who couldn't make it, we voted on Officers for the club.
I am the president,
is VP, S. Kohrmann is Treasurer, Secretary is 
, the Head of Public Relations Committee is , and there are three other members of the P.R. Committee.For the next meeting, $5 for club dues need to be "turned in", so to speak. Also, if you are interested in creating a logo for the club to be put on the T-shirts, feel free to make one, but you must bring it next Wednesday (02/11) since we're going to vote then.
Also, we are going to start a "library" of Anime DVDs. People can bring in any of their DVDs and give them to the club (until the end of the year, of course
), but they need to label them as theirs. It will pretty much be just like a regular library with "checking out", etc.After the meeting, we thought of having a part of the room where you can play card games, like Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, Magic: The Gathering, and Dungeons and Dragons, so bring those next time if you are interested.
And finally, I brought cookies & brownies this time, but I can't bring snacks each time, so we'll need people to bring some snacks, so tell me if you want to bring something.
So yeah, that's about all we talked about this time. We voted on Anime to watch, and we'll be watching Kuroshitsuji and Lucky Star if all goes as planned. I hope to see anyone interested that could not come at the club next Wednesday!!!!

I always wanted to start an anime (or japanese culture) club, but didn't really have the time or guts during the course of high school, so kudos to ya!:3
(Too bad I'm gonna be graduating in a few months...heh.)
I'm also very happy to be working with you as secretary! I shall do my job as best I can ^^
My only qualms/questions are these (but you probably can't change consensus):
1.) I'm wondering if there are other activities people can do aside from watching anime (if need be) such as play the card games, etc. I'm not sure exactly what they would be, but those could go on possibly
before 4 ish, for whoever shows up then.)
2.) Ugh..the anime picked XD
(Sorry, I'm just venting) Lucky Star is fine and dandy, I only worry that some *guyscough* may not relate or get bored with it...(plus I've watched it before, so it urks me to watch it again...even though it was okay...I just...don't know XD)This is kinda funny because I voted for stuff I've already seen...I feel angry that I forgot some that I've never seen before (and really want to watch). In fact, azumanga daoih is sooo much better
On Kuroshitsugi...don't be relying on that one. It's not even finished (ongoing)/licensed yet and the only way to watch it is via la net (which we don't have at school, being that it is all blocked) or by buying imported dvds or bootleggers (this is a potential problem in and of itself.)
The next problem is...though I've never seen it before, from what I've heard uroshitsugi is basically this: fangirl yaoi rama. One: though it's all in joke, this may be potentially offensive to some people, or it may irritate/creep out the guys. Plus, I'm not sure about teacher supervision...but uh..I would feel akward watching something like this with ms. ikeda around? o0
Anyways, if this is brought up (and it might, since I've talked to acouple of people about it), then it might be better to pick a couple of gender neutral (in themes) shows instead. Also, maybe a short one and a 20-something episode one, that way, we can spend in between time doing other things/practicing a skit?(maybe) I was going to suggest either wolf's rain, cowboy bebop, or rahxephon for a more serious, and long one. (any show with that kind of feel would be good) (all are about 24 eps) I own two of them, making it more convinient than the kuroshitsugi idea, and I think that these shows are excellent (though I;ve never seen rahxephon, I've just heard it's awesome) and might bring a more time worthy anime watching experience.
For the comedy, I think fruits basket is fine, or something like full metal panic (one of the seasons is only 9 eps, and you could watch it stand alone). If there is time left, then movies would be cool:3
All in all, just giving this shout out in case some new comers, or a person complains next time XD I guess it's good to have alternatives. Of course it's up to you, but that's just what I wanted to say at the meeting that I couldn't.

As for your questions:
1.) So yeah, after almost everyone left, Benji, Annie, Cody, Kevin and I realized that there were some issues we did not discuss. So we discussed the card game idea, and figured we could have some other things to do. We might be able to discuss that next meeting.
2.) I was not thrilled with the Anime choices, either - especially the subbed issue. However, I do realize that if we don't vote, no one will be happy. But yeah. I have never heard of either of them. *Research time!*
As for Kuroshitsuji, we will have to discuss that at the meeting with everyone. I myself hate subs, since I can't concentrate on the words and pictures on the screen at the same time.
The forum issue is still in the works. I don't recall Cody saying anything about the forum, but then again, it was so loud and hectic, who knows?

Yeah, I was wondering what was going to happen with the club because of the flooding crap. I'll try to talk to the admin and see if we can still meet tomorrow. I'll also try to get it on the announcements if we are meeting or not. Hopefully, we'll be able to meet still. Hope to see you at the meeting!!!
